ARMTA Soloist
Zijia (Jaydon) Zhuang, ARCT
Passionate, cheerful and easy-going, aspiring musician Zijia (Jaydon) Zhuang has been pursuing his dream of becoming a concert pianist for more than 10 years; along the way exploring the beauty of classical music and spreading the joy of it to the world.
Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Jaydon showed a great interest in music from a young age. Starting piano at age 5, he has studied with notable teachers in Alberta including Rosemarie Horne and, currently, Wolfram Linnebach.
His growing accolades include winning the Grand Prize of the 2023 Canadian Music Competition in the 11-14 years old category and thereafter performing his debut concerto with orchestra with the Calgary Civic Symphony, first place in the 2025 provincial piano competition and represented Alberta at the CFMTA National Piano Competition, where he was honored with the Most Promising Artist Award, first place at Solo Piano (17 and Under) classes in the 2025 Alberta Provincial Music Festival, and second place in the Canada West Performing Art
Festival of 2023, first place at both the Piano Concerto and Piano (14 and Under) classes in the 2023 Alberta Provincial Music Festival, as well as multiple first prizes and scholarships in the Edmonton Music and Speech Arts Festival. Additionally, he won the Gold Award under the youth category of the 2024 Pacific Rim International Music Festival.
Beyond his piano studies, he co-founded the non-profit organization Music Semplice, where he organizes Edmonton’s young musicians and regularly performs young artist events for senior communities across the city. Outside of music, Jaydon enjoys filmmaking, reading, composing and cooking.

AMEF Soloist
Demi Alba
Demi Alba, 15, is an award-winning pianist from Edmonton who began her musical studies at age four. A 2025 recipient of AMEF’s Student Recognition Award in Performance A, she has earned top prizes at the Steinway Piano Competition, EMSAF, AMFA, and the Edmonton Kiwanis Music Festival. Demi is the founder of the Nobile Music Association, which promotes community engagement through classical music. She studies with Dr. Yoana Kyurkchieva and has participated in masterclasses with leading international artists.
