Be a part of the Alberta Band Association community!
Join the Alberta Band Association and participate in a network of music educators, conductors, performers, composers, music publishers, industry representatives, community bands and band enthusiasts in Alberta and Canada!
All memberships expire on August 31 and are due for renewal on September 1. There are number of different options to become a member of the Alberta Band Association.

Regular Membership - $125/year
Regular members are band conductors or educators, community band directors, or any conductor actively directing an ensemble or individuals
Institution/Organization Membership - $175/year
Any organization that has multiple directors or conductors is eligible for an Institution/Organization membership. Corporations and businesses that support band and band education in the province would also fall into this category.
Retired Membership - $25/year
This membership is for retired teachers who still wish to stay active in the provincial/national band community but are not currently conducting a community or school ensemble.
Associate Membership - $25/year
Associates of the Alberta Band Association include students enrolled in a post-secondary institution, ensemble members of a community, school, or other type of band ensemble, and participants in the Adult Concert Band Workshop.
Honourary Lifetime Members
An honourary lifetime membership is given annually to individuals who have been recognized for providing a significant period of years of continuous and extraordinary service promoting and developing the musical, educational, and cultural value of bands and band music in Alberta. Memberships are awarded based on board recommendations.

- Access to registration for all Alberta Band Association programs, workshops and events including Music Conference Alberta, the Coda Conference, workshops and webinars
- Ability to recommend instrumentalists for any of the honour band programs including the Alberta Jazz Ensemble, the Alberta Wind Symphony, the Alberta Junior Honour Bands, and Alberta Virtual Band
- Participation in the ABA Provincial Festival of Bands and the Alberta Virtual Music Classroom Exchange
- Voting privileges at the Annual General Meeting
- Membership in the Canadian Band Association including access to the CBA online theory program and receipt of their journal, Canadian Winds
- Information on the National Youth Band of Canada
- Borrowing privileges from the ABA Music Library
- Access to advocacy materials developed by the ABA and the Alberta Music Advocacy Alliance
Institution/Organization Membership - $175/year
Any organization that has multiple directors or conductors is eligible for an Institution/Organization membership. Corporations and businesses that support band and band education in the province would also fall into this category.
