The Alberta Virtual Band

The Alberta Virtual Band is the Alberta Band Association's response to the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic. High school aged musicians will have the opportunity to play alongside members of one of Alberta's professional orchestras as they perform a brand new commission written expressly for the Alberta Virtual Band. All members of the Alberta Virtual Band will receive two small group coachings with instrument specific professional musicians and the Virtual band performance will be the world premiere of a new work by Allan Gilliland!
High School teachers should recommend their students by completing a Recommendation Rubric for up to 5 students and submit an Instrumentalist Questionnaire completed by each student and signed by a Parent/Guardian.

The deadline to submit the recommendation rubric and instrumentalist questionnaire is December 11, 2020.
There are no plans to run the Alberta Virtual Band in the 2021/2022 season.
